PA Speaker Suspends Deputy Speaker’s Staff

According to reports, Punjab Assembly Speaker Parvez Elahi sacked the staff of Deputy Speaker Dost Muhammad Mazari on Monday, a move that seems to be retaliation for the Deputy Speaker’s conduct. As a result of exerting his power, the speaker is said to have disciplined assistant protocol officer Muhammad Shahid, assistant protocol officer Azeem Butt, and staff officer Muhammad Aman Khalid for their acts.

A spokesperson said that “the speaker has also begun an inquiry into the sacked officials” as part of the investigation.

Because of the events of April 16, the Secretary of the Punjab Assembly Muhammad Khan Bhatti and the Secretary of Parliamentary Affairs Inayat Ullah Lak were both earlier suspended by Deputy Speaker Mir Dost Muhammad Mazari, who had previously placed them both on administrative leave. A court decision ordering Hamza Shehbaz to be elected Punjab Chief Minister over Parvez Elahi brought to light that Mazari and Elahi were in conflict with one another and publicly discussed their disputes.

During the election of the province’s chief minister, members of the Punjab Assembly’s deputy speaker, Dost Muhammad Mazari, were also singled out for criticism by members of the provincial treasury. Hooliganism occurred in the Punjab Assembly during the election of the state’s chief minister, Dost Muhammad Mazari. Mazari was tortured throughout the process. The allegations in a report filed with Lahore’s Qila Gujjar Singh police station by DSP Shahzad Manzoor included an assault with a deadly weapon, meddling with the business of the government, and other allegations.
